Yasemen Aslı Karataş

FAO Türkiye Country Programme Coordinator

Yasemen Aslı Karataş, born in 1985, is an Agricultural Engineer working as a Programme Associate at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). A graduate of Ankara University’s Faculty of Agriculture, Karataş has gained international experience at Helsinki University in Finland and the University of Kentucky in the USA. Throughout her career, she has worked on project development, program management, natural resource management, combating desertification, climate change, and youth integration at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, FAO Türkiye, and the FAO Sub-regional Office for Central Asia. Her areas of expertise include sustainable land management, rural development projects, and partnership-building.

Fluent in English and French, Karataş has participated in various projects with international organizations, organized training programs, and contributed to the preparation of international reports. She focuses on ensuring strategic alignment in FAO’s programmes in Türkiye, preparing high-level briefings, developing and implementing technical cooperation projects, and fostering partnerships.
