Dr. Ece Varlık Özsoy

She graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History, and Geography, Department of Psychology in 2004. She completed her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Hacettepe University, Institute of Social Sciences, in 2006, and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences, in 2016. Her master’s thesis focused on cognitive mechanisms involved in eating disorders, while her doctoral thesis examined attachment and information processing in anxiety disorders. She was appointed as an expert at the Ankara Probation and Assistance Center Directorate under the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses at the Ministry of Justice, later transferring to the Department and working as an expert in the Child Probation Department for four years. During this period, she actively participated in numerous EU projects. In 2010, she started working as a Lecturer in the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Akdeniz University, Faculty of Education. Since 2017, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Akdeniz University. She has received training and conducted internships in adult and child psychiatry clinics at the medical faculties of Ankara, Hacettepe, and Akdeniz Universities. Her work focuses on anxiety disorders, eating disorders, mood disorders, and psychotherapies in children, adolescents, and adults. She has received training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, Gestalt therapy, family therapy, group therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and schema therapy. At Akdeniz University’s Psychology Department, she continues her studies on topics such as interpersonal neurobiology, attachment, and information processing.
