The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed daily living. Governments had to place strict regulations for masking, quarantine, and isolation. School shutdowns followed and distance learning was implemented for children, transforming traditional concepts of class play, break, and homework. The advent of technology has brought unique consequences to eye health in children during this time. Studies have either shown or projected an increase in several eye diseases, exacerbated by missed appointments and treatments. This talk will aim to summarize the current evidence regarding the impact of digital education and care coordination on children's eye health during the COVID-19 pandemic. Current nutrition recommendations and strategies to improve children's eye health will be discussed.
